NCC

NCC-Logo

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is India’s premier uniformed youth organization, established on 15 July 1948 under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, with its headquarters in New Delhi. The NCC plays a vital role in shaping the youth of the nation by inculcating the values of discipline, unity, leadership, patriotism, and selfless service, thereby contributing significantly to national integration and nation-building.

NCC at Our College

Our college proudly introduced NCC from the academic session 2024–2025, with affiliation to 19 UP Girls Battalion, Lucknow. A dedicated NCC Platoon is functioning successfully under the dynamic supervision and guidance of CTO Dr. Neha Jain, with the constant encouragement and visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Sushma Devi, Principal. Since its inception, the unit has been actively engaged in training cadets in leadership, discipline, civic responsibility, and community service, thereby enriching NCC life and empowering students to become confident, responsible citizens.

Aim and Objectives of NCC

“To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country and to create a pool of organized, trained, and motivated youth for leadership in all walks of life.”

Motto: “Unity and Discipline” (Ekta aur Anushasan) — reflecting the spirit of national integration, teamwork, and disciplined conduct.

Structure of NCC

The NCC is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising three wings:

  • Army Wing
  • Navy Wing
  • Air Force Wing

Our college NCC unit operates under the Army Wing, providing students with structured training and exposure to military ethos.

Training and Activities

NCC training is designed to be holistic and practical, enabling cadets to develop physical fitness, mental resilience, leadership skills, and a spirit of service. Key activities include:

  • Drill and Parade Training
  • Weapon Training and Map Reading
  • Physical Fitness and Obstacle Training
  • Adventure Activities such as trekking, mountaineering, and camping
  • Social Service and Community Development programmes
  • Disaster Management and Civil Defence Training
  • Leadership Camps, Annual Training Camps (ATCs), and National Integration Camps (NICs)
Voluntary Participation

Enrollment in NCC is purely voluntary and open to all eligible students. Cadets are not bound by any liability for active military service; however, the training provides a strong foundation for those aspiring to join the armed forces or uniformed services.

Role in Nation Building

NCC plays a pivotal role in fostering national integration, secular outlook, unity in diversity, and civic consciousness among youth. By nurturing leadership qualities and promoting a spirit of service, NCC cadets grow into responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to society and the nation.

Benefits of NCC
